Color – it has always drawn me with a fascination and appreciation for it, especially when combined with texture. I am inspired by the colors that I see in nature, especially the sky. God’s great canvas – a blank slate where he creates these extraordinary paintings to be discovered and enjoyed every day. I am motivated to capture even the smallest reflection of that beauty.
Genesis 1:3 – Then God said, ‘Let there be light. And there was light.’ And God saw the light, that it was good.
I am a Christian. I am not ashamed of the gospel. It is the power of God to bring salvation to everyone who believes. If you have an interest in knowing more about the kingdom of God, please contact me. I would be happy to share with you what I know.
When I make art it is a very physical act. I exert influence over what I am making and shape it. I also let it tell me what it will become. I use various tools to push the paint around creating surface structures and textures with lots of layers. Mistakes are sometimes part of the process and can be the source of new and interesting results.
The great thing about abstract art is that the viewer gets to create their own interpretation and significance. My hope is that others enjoy the art I make.
